Lcg Jukebox Alternatives For Mac

One of the main problems in my life at the moment is that I keep seeing more and more people on the street listening to their iPod Touch or iPhone. That in itself is not the problem, of course.

The problem is I don't have one. And I want one. Luckily though, I stumbled across this Pocket PC app that allows you to replicate the iPhone/iPod Touch audio player on your Windows Mobile device. Although the design of the app isn't completely the same, the interface is very similar and as such it provides you with a novel way of listening to music on your mobile - without the stylus. On booting up S2P you'll probably notice that it doesn't auto-detect your MP3s, which is a little irritating, but quickly solved by ensuring that all of your music is organised well into folders, allowing you to navigate this way, rather than through a list.

Other than that, the program handles like a dream, with large buttons that can be easily tapped with a finger, and a scrolling menu system that animates smoothly. S2P can handle album art too, and if it doesn't detect any it's very simple to import. Playback is just as intuitive as navigation and again the buttons are very large. You'll need a fair amount of system memory on your device because it is pretty RAM-hungry, but if your unit is up to it it's a great way of experiencing iPod Touch functionality without actually buying one.

Author's review. S2P is my third S2 series application. S2P is a stylus-free MP3/OGG player application. It simply lets you browse your music files and play them. Since S2P simply scans music files in your storage card, it's suggested to have your music files well organized by folders.

So that you can browse your music files through the folders instead of a plain list. Artist Name Album Name Music title.mp3) When browsing, press the folder name to list all music files under that folder, including subfolders; or press the arrow button to list the subfolders. Press any one of the filename to play.

It is a memory hog and I don't even have much installed on my Omnia as its brand new. Flipping from landscape to portrait has locked the phone up a number of times.

I'm not sure why people settle for less than what the iPhone can provide. These windows mobile phones are computers and are capable of much better than what is currently out there. Although I am not a programmer and don't know all the time and effort that is spent creating these apps, there has to be a group of people out there willing to create apps and sell them for windows mobile phones like people are doing for the app store. When you flip from portrait to landscape S2P should automatically switch without having to flick the right side of your screen. Also the smoothness of the operation isn't very good either. That is most likely due to the fact it hogs so much memory.

Can't this be programmed to use much less memory making it smoother? All the app does is play music. If this thing can stream music from YouTube and you can play full length movies on it without a problem you would think you would be able fix that issue. I will say I will use S2P over any other program out there for the windows mobile phone because frankly its easier to use than anything else out there. I hope that there will be future releases of S2P and I would be willing to pay for these type of apps if they worked properly.

Pros: Easy to use. Cons: Memory Hog Doesnt switch from portrait to landscape automatically Not smooth in cover flow view reviewed on June 17, 2009. By Anonymous Looks 10, ops 7. S2P is, by far, the most attractive and finger-friendly media player I've found for Windows Mobile. I love the appeara nce, the simple screen layout and the large finger-friendly buttons.

It adapts neatly to the odd 320x320 screen on my Samsung Saga and operation was nearly trouble-free. I say 'nearly' and rate stability 8 because opening S2P when Kinoma FreePlay was already loaded put the phone into a downward spiral of Windows errors and trouble-report uploads that continued until I killed S2P with Task Manager. Functionally, I love the interface. However, I rate it only a 7 because it does not support playlists and does not have an internal mechanism for organizing media files - it depends entirely on a logically-ordered directory structure. Pros: Simple, uncluttered user interface Touch-friendly buttons full-screen album art glitch-free playback did I mention I love the interface.

Cons: No internal database No method of organizing media files May crash in the presence of other media players reviewed on January 20, 2009. Articles about S2P.
