Steelseries Diablo Iii Mouse Driver 2.8.1214 For Mac

I have been searching around, I cannot find anyone else having this issue with the mouse. I purchased the Steelseries Diablo III mouse about a month ago with the Steelseries QCK mousepad. It worked great until about 4 days ago. I noticed, while playing D3, that sometimes the cursor wasn't moving all the way as I scrolled my mouse. Sometimes it would just stop as I moved the mouse, then continue. It was getting really annoying.

Basically the mouse was acting like a ball mouse with dirt on the rollers. I made sure that the drivers were up to date, and also the firmware. Both were good. I figured the mousepad must be dirty, so I tried it on a razer mousepad, and a peice of paper; but both of those had the same result. I then tried it on my metal desk, and it worked fine. I searched around and found out that this issue may be due to the fact that sometimes then lens on laser mice can get dirty, and you need to clean them off with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol.

I also discovered that laser mice don't like cloth mousepads (which doesn't make sense because Steelseries advertises this mouse with the QCK cloth mousepad, which they say is 100% compatible). Well at this point I went ahead and cleaned off the lens of the mouse sensor, and I also ordered a Steelseries 4D mousepad (made for laser mice.dumb idea though). Well, I get the 4D mousepad in the mail today, and no dice.now the cursor doesn't move at all, on ANY mousepad I use.

The light are on, and the buttons work fine, but the mouse does not track at all on a mousepad. It is almost like the sensor has degraded. Oddly, it still works on my metal desk, my wooden table, AND my glass table. This is such a weird issue, and I cannot find anyone else who has it. I opened a ticket with Steelseries 4 days ago and have not received a response yet. If anyone has the vaguest idea what might be going on, I would really appreciate the help. In the meantime, I will use my trusty Razer Deathadder because the spot on my desk where the mouse goes has holes in it, and I need to put a mouspad there.

Despite the issue, I really do like the D3 mouse; and would love to start using it again. Well it is good to know that I am not the only person having this issue. I got a response from Steelseries, but it is just the typical cut and paste 're-install the firmware and driver' answer. I tried it, it didn't work. I was thinking it may be a USB power issue, but my Razer Deathadder works fine, and the D3 mouse too was working fine until about 2 weeks worth of use.

I am hoping to either return it with Amazon, or see if Steelseries will replace it under the warranty. Regardless, I am not getting Steelseries again anytime soon; and I feel like I just wasted a ton of money.the one time I buy a gimic product.it doesn't work.go figure. Same issue exept i could move my mouse to any action bar i wanted but the cursor itself was stuck. I tried installing the driver which the following manual tells me. I install the steelseries engine, runs it, and it says connect steelseries compatible product to proceed (or something like that), i plug in my mouse, it begins flashing the red circle and stops working. I then find out that the mouse has been changed into a 'diablo 3 Bootloader'.

I cant seem to find any who can solve this issue (or even has it). PROBLEM KINDA SOLVED! I had the same issue while using d3 mat with d3 mouse. It seems the sensor for some reason is quite narrow minded when comes to the surfaces used.

So I looked my mat what seemed somewhat pretty clean being used only for couple of months or so. Anyways i took a harsh sponge and rubbed the mat for a little while to remove all the small grease particles from the mat.! Voila now your crap is working just fine until the next cleansing. Hope they still give us atleast new mats or something.
