The potential for customisation is wide, including your boxer's name, location and physique. After warming up in some amateur bouts, your boxer will turn professional. Prize money goes towards new gear and hiring staff. The more you make, the better trainer, cut man and even ring girl you can afford. Before each fight, you can train your boxer through mini-games to build up attributes such as strength, speed, agility and more. A new mini-game involves treating your boxer's injuries between rounds.

The Haymaker attack is another fresh feature. These punches deliver punishing blows, but also drain stamina, requiring them to be used sparingly. The visuals are outstanding, albeit brutal. Boxers move with natural grace, and bruises and injuries become apparent as the bout progresses.
